It is that time of the year again! The Don tour will be making a stop in several cities this summer, and as usual somebody always wants either something from Wisconsin (Who can resist our stuff), or someone wants me to bring them something back from another city. I'm sure we have all done it one time in our lives. Ive asked my friends who went to Nashville for New Years to bring me back some Lynch burg Whiskey cake (Never again!). Its fun to try new stuff right, or stuff from a childhood memory. But you maybe asking why the name.
Last year I took a trip to Chicago for a computer seminar. A few days before my mom read the Jewel Osco flyer and asked me to pick up some stuff for her, since we no longer have Jewel in Wisconsin. Little did I know the list was quite large (5 cases of coke, 2 bottles of steak sauce, 3 Tortes from the bakery, Nathans Hot Dogs, 2 bottles of Jose Cuervo Margaritas etc). Then my sister found out about the soda deal (Tack on 5 more cases & 2 bottles of Jose Cuervo Margaritas ), some friends found out about the soda specials (Tack on 5 cases of Pepsi), same friends wanted me to bring back a uncooked pizza from Gino's East, and one friend was contemplating a cheesecake from Elis'. I as well wanted the 5 cases of soda for myself. Amazingly I was able to fit everything into my trunk & had the pizza on the passenger side floor.
I texted one of my friends, who jokingly texted back what are you smuggling Oleo, and Obedient hardworking illegals with you as well from Chicago? I told him if you need them I can fit them in the back seat. LOL Then he proceeded to calling me Nancy the Smugglar. So the name stuck (Except the Nancy part lol).
So with the story been told I have created a checklist to prepare for all the requests from friends and family this week as I make my trip to Indianapolis on May 22nd. So if you want something let the Smugglar know no later than May 20th! There will be other trips as the summer goes along, which I will post on Facebook (if your following me).
