Whats Your Favorite Summerfest Moment?

The gates are going to be opening at noon on Thursday.  It seems just like yesterday it was May.  Where did the month go?  Who cares right, the best reason for living in Milwaukee is here SUMMERFEST! 

So the other day I posted some rules & food recommendation for new & casual Summerfest attendees.  Now I want make a blog for the veteran Summerfest attendees.  I want to know your favorite Summerfest moment.  Were you at the show when George Carlin got arrested?  Did you get to meet the lead singer of your favorite band?  Did you make love on the rocks with a summer fling (No Details that you scared the fishes Lol).  Was it playing in the rain when there was nothing else to do?  Did you get so wasted or high you don't remember what you did except for what your friends showed you pictures of later?  I'll start

Top 10 Favorite Summerfest Concerts.

10.  Kiss 2009 We were very lucky as this show was part of a 5 show tour, before they did the KISS 35 Alive tour.

9.  Bush 1996 My first concert.

8. Ted Nugent 2003 (Lots of reference below for this day)

7. Nickelback / 3 Doors Down 2006 Lawn seats, $50 in beer dancing with a bunch of people, Priceless.  I sobered up halfway through Nickelback. 

6.  Britney Spears 2000 Expensive night.  Enough said.

5. Weird Al Yankovic 2007 Pouring rain before the show & he played until 12:30 at night!  Summerfest was pissed as they had to call buses back to take people home.

4.  Shinedown 2003  First concert I went to where the band let you throw garbage on stage as they played (Drummer used an ear of corn I threw on stage on the drums).

3.   Bon Jovi 2001 / 2008 First time seeing Bon Jovi & dumped a g/f the next day (Long story ask me sometime)  2008 was in the 3rd row & got a high five from Jon, girl next to me and I got sing You give Love a Bad Name.

2.  Paramore /No Doubt 2009:  Gwen Stefani enough said & 1st time seeing No Doubt and loved it!

1.  The Offspring 2009 Was just plain out fun & was one of those I hadn't seen on a shortlist of bands

Worst Concert Ever:

Destiny's Child 2001: I was forced to go with a girl I was dating since her friends bailed on her.  I wish they invented Ipods back then. LOL

Funniest Summerfest Moment: 

Ted Nugent my friend Aaron commented on how hot this girl looked and he wasn't paying attention as the mom was right up against his other cheek and shouted in his ear "That's my f'n daughter your staring at.  The dad kept walking didn't care much.  Aaron shouted as she walked away I couldn't help your daughter's dressed hot!

Historical moments at Summerfest: 

I was part of the largest attendance at Summerfest over 147,000+ people on a Friday in 2003.  Probably 50,000 were there to see Ted Nugent as they were backed up to the Lake.  They had to close the gates for 2hours to let the crowd thin out a little. 

That same year Summerfest set an attendance record of over 1million festival attendees for the duration of Summerfest the following Sunday.  I saw Judas Priest without Rob Halford (yech).

No flings really at Summerfest.  Though someone girl did offer sexual favors for my concert tickets once.  I think it was for when I saw 3 Doors Down & Tantric 2001.  I think she would have regretted sitting next to my gf at that time though. LOL

I'm sure there are 100s of more memories & concerts Id tell you were my favorite but, Summerfest starts soon & its time to get ready to make more Summerfest moments, history & see some great bands!
